Tylenol 3 is known generically as acetaminophen with codeine phosphate. It delivers 300 mg of Tylenol and 30 mg of codeine in a tablet form.

Other side effects include rash, low blood sugar, a feeling of warmth with facial redness, spasms of the bronchi or larynx, slow breathing, rash, unusual sensitivity to cold, shallow breathing, hives, suppressed cough reflex, itching and fever. These side effects are uncommon.

Genitourinary side effects are uncommon and include renal tubular necrosis, difficulty voiding, voiding less urine than normal, low sex drive, voiding more than normal, spasms of the ureters and kidney failure.

Physical and psychological dependence can occur as a side effect of taking codeine.

Acetaminophen reduces fever and it relieves the pain of teething, earache, sunburn, cuts, bruises, headache, etc. There are minimal side- effect concerns in a healthy child. It has a high 38-42 lbs, 280mg, 3 ½ droppers.

A study in 2001 has shown that giving an initial double dose of acetaminophen for high fevers is both safe and more effective to bring down that high fever fast. Only give a double dose if the fever is high. You can only give a double dose once every few days if needed. Any other doses should be the regular dose.
