Annelise + Kyle= Shealyn 1/3/07, ^i^, ^i^, Brynleigh 10/31/12.

I would think if your doctor prescribed it and he knew you were pregnant it would be safe...I can see why you'd be hesitant though.

ya that's where im at....im trying here to stay strong, but tylenol just doesnt do much.

It is safe... prescribed to me for pinched nerves during dd pregnancy and this one... so mild. I am not normally a pain killer person but nerves get bad... anyways... it is an acceptable medication.

i may just have to suck it up.

CDC - Features -Birth Defects Findings - NCBDDD

Codeine and hydrocodone were the most frequently reported with opioid analgesics during pregnancy included surgical procedures.

In this study, the findings related to some of the other birth defects were observed for the first time. For example, links between the use of opioid analgesics and the occurrence of hydrocephaly, glaucoma, or gastroschisis have not been observed in previous studies and deserve further investigation.

The findings related to congenital heart defects were consistent with findings of previous studies showing links between the use of codeine during the first trimester and the occurrence of some heart defects.
