WARNING: Do not stop using this drug without first consulting your doctor. Your condition may become worse when the drug is suddenly stopped, especially if you have chest pain ( angina ) or heart disease (e.g., coronary artery disease, ischemic heart disease, high blood pressure ). If your doctor decides you should no longer use this drug, you must gradually decrease your dose according to your doctor's instructions. When gradually stopping this medication, it is recommended that you temporarily limit physical activity to decrease strain on the heart. Seek immediate medical attention if you develop: worsening chest pain, tightness/pressure in the chest, chest pain spreading to the jaw/neck/arm, unusual sweating, trouble breathing, or fast/irregular heartbeat.

Propranolol oral solution 4.28 mg/mL: Initiate treatment at ages 5 weeks to 5 months: Initial dose: 0.15 mL/kg (0.6 mg/kg) orally 2 times a day (at least 9 hours apart) -After 1 week: Increase the daily dose to 0.3 mL/kg (1.1 mg/kg) orally 2 times a day (at least 9 hours apart) -After 2 weeks: Increase the dose to 0.4 mL/kg (1.7 mg/kg) orally 2 times a day (at least 9 hours apart) maintain for 6 months Comments: -Dose should be periodically adjusted as the weight of the child increases.

Propranolol may cause side effects. l your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not.

Unless your doctor ls you otherwise, continue your normal diet.

Do not let anyone else take your medication. Ask your pharmacist any questions you have about refilling your prescription.

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember it. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one. dizziness or lightheadedness difficulty sleeping excessive tiredness upset stomach vomiting rash diarrhea constipation difficulty breathing sore throat unusual bleeding.

Propranolol comes as a tablet or capsule to take by mouth.
