Does Vicodin contain codeine or synthetic codeine?

Vicodin causes itching, even when taken with benedryl.
Anyone have any thoughts? I have severe ADD. Took a vicodin once and the cloud vanished! It was remarkable.

Vicodin contains hydrocodone which is a semi synthetic opoid derived from either of two substances- codiene and thebaine. So in essence, it is a derivative of codeine. Vicodin also contains acetominophen. Hope this helps, Laurie.
