Is it safe to take codeinetussin for a BAD coughcold? - BabyCenter

My OB called in a prescription for codeine/tussin and some antibiotics. I've never heard of taking codeine while pregnant. Will this hurt baby.

I had a horrible cough and cold for about 5 weeks that I'm just now getting over. I took both for it, and baby is still kicking! Anna.

ER Nurse, Mom to feb '12 baby.

Anthony Joseph due January 15, 2012 <3 (c-section a week prior!).

Melissa & Greg- Falling in Love withTwin Girls Gracelyn Elizabeth& Hannah Jane born 1/3/12 @ 33 weeks 6 days.

Oh dear, this whole thing is scary. Just becuase an MD says it's ok, does NOT mean it is ok and will not have any side effects on the baby or you. Please do your own research before saying MD's know it all.
