The treatment of Fioricet overdose is complicated by the presence of two substances which are highly toxic when taken in excessive amounts. Fioricet overdoses generally result in toxic amounts of both acetaminophen and butalbital being consumed at once, requiring both overdoses to be treated at once.

FIORICET w. CODEINE (Acetaminophen, Caffeine, Butalbital) drug information & product resources from MPR including dosage information, educational.

1–2 caps every 4hrs; max 6/day. Not recommended. FIORICET.

Hepatotoxicity (acetaminophen >4g/day). Drug abusers. Impaired hepatic or renal function (monitor). Acute abdominal conditions. Elderly. Debilitated. Pregnancy (Cat.C). Nursing mothers: not recommended. Also with Codeine: risk of respiratory depression and death related to ultra-rapid metabolizers of codeine (esp. in children in post-op tonsillectomy and/or adenoidectomy). Obstructive sleep apnea. Head injury. Increased intracranial pressure. Hypothyroidism. Addison’s disease. GI or GU obstruction. Abuse potential. Labor and delivery.

Porphyria. Also with Codeine: post-op pain management in children who have undergone tonsillectomy and/or adenoidectomy.

Opioid + barbiturate + analgesic/antipyretic + CNS stimulant.

Tension (or muscle contraction) headache.

Generic Name and Formulations: Codeine phosphate 30mg, butalbital 50mg, acetaminophen 300mg, caffeine 40mg; caps. Company: Actavis.

May be potentiated by MAOIs. May potentiate alcohol, general anesthetics, tranquilizers, sedative-hypnotics, other narcotic analgesics or CNS depressants. Induction of drug-metabolizing hepatic enzymes. Acetaminophen may cause false (+) urine test for 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid. Codeine may increase serum amylase levels.

Drowsiness, lightheadedness, dizziness, sedation, shortness of breath, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, intoxicated feeling, depression, confusion, paradoxical excitement; rare: serious skin reactions (eg, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis); discontinue if occurs; overdosage: respiratory depression, hepatotoxicity. Caps—100.

Hello, I am writting for the first time on this site, I have been taking Fioricet with codeine for about 4 1/2 years for migraines.. I am taking 4.
